Photo:Cheshire West and Cheshire[/caption]Aside from just loaning books, customers will be able to access audio books, DVDs and use the internet as part of the services available.
There will also be a Work Club, support for job-seekers and regular story times, rhyme times and topsy tumbles for younger children.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Customer Services has moved into the library from its old headquarters at the Health Centre and so council services will also be made available to customers.
Councillor Lynn Riley said: “The library is bright, well equipped and easy to access. Sharing a building with partner services brings so many advantages. I am very glad that Frodsham is leading the way.”
Councillor Andrew Dawson is excited about the new partnership with Brio’s Leisure Centre, as the pair will be sharing a building together. He said: “The Leisure Centre and Library are already working together with young children but this is just the start."
“With the health centre and the Leisure Centre close by, it will be easy to promote’ books on prescription’ and exercise for health.”
Frodsham Library is also the first in the Council to have an out-of-hours self-serve terminal. Customers can return their library books and borrow from a small selection at times when the library is closed and the Leisure Centre is open.
