Arts and crafts fair showcases local talent

DOUBLE Tree Hilton Hotel in Chester played host to a Contemporary Art & Craft Fair this weekend Sunday 8 December.

The fair comes only a few weeks after the annual Chester Arts Fair, which took place at Chester Racecourse and like this fair, proved to be very popular.

Full of talented individuals all eager to exhibit their art work, ceramics, glass pieces and jewellery collections, the fair brought in art and crafts lovers from all over Cheshire.

Among the stallholders were ceramic artists Bev Bell-Hughes, Daniel Bridge and Katy O’Neil all showcasing their handcrafted ceramics, which included an assortment of kitchen utensils and personalised Christmas decorations.

Glass artists Jane Coyle and Verity Pulford were also present alongside jewellery maker Rebecca Louise Wilcock, who was displaying her elegant silver jewellery collection. With the fair being so close to Christmas stall holders were hoping their stocking fillers and one of a kind pieces would attract a crowd of people looking to buy a unique present for someone.

The combination of the fair with its unique and well-known location meant that the public could enjoy the arts and crafts as well as its surroundings.

With an array of stalls to view and artists to talk too the fair showcased the best in arts and crafts and was an inspiration to anyone thinking of starting their own homemade trade venture.
